Friends in town!

Our sweet friends, The Few's, were in the area this past week so we got to catch up with them before they headed back to North Carolina! We had lunch at Willie's and then took them on a tour of the North campus and our student warehouse. It was so good to spend time with them. David (Few Daddy) was who Carter came to work for at Prestonwood when he started as an intern in the youth in 2001! The Few's now serve at a church in North Carolina.

21 weeks...

Our baby girl now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot! She is kicking and nudging these days like she's practicing martial arts! ha! In other developments, her eyebrows and lids are present now!

20 weeks...

Our baby GIRL weighs about 11 ounces now! SHE'S also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a BANANA. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against her torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of her head to her bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, she's measured from head to toe.) SHE'S swallowing more these days, which is good practice for HER digestive system. She is a busy, busy GIRL these days!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you amazing Dad's!!

We spent the day at the pool with Julie's family and then the ladies prepared a spread for the dad's! We had steak, chicken & shrimp shish kabob's, baked potatoes & sopapilla cheesecake!

Oh Happy Day!

Three little words that pretty much sum up Friday, June 19th for the Morris'!

1st- We celebrated Mr. Nelson Carter Morris' 31st Birthday with many yummy meals and many wonderful friends!
2nd- We celebrated seeing our very precious PRINCESS! Yes, I said princess! We will be the proud parents of a precious little baby girl on Nov. 7th, or whenever she decides to make her grand appearance!

Whew...what an incredible day! Thank you Lord!
Proud Mommy & Daddy looking at our baby girl!
Ah hah...what do we have here...a thumb sucker maybe!!??

Surprise lunch for Carter with our friends, Jim & Cheryl Wicker,
at Rafain Brazilian Steakhouse in Plano.

Yummo!

On to the next party!!
We had some friends over to our house for dinner!
Here's a pic of Carter with his boys...Ben & Trog.
For dinner, Julie prepared...country style pork ribs, green bean bundles, shoepeg casserole, homemade sweet potatoe fries, sweet corn bread, and banana pudding (Paula Deen style!!)

The girls...Sevyn, Mendi, Julie & Jen

Carter, Julie, Chalet & Chris

Here's a pic of the quilt Poppa & Maggie sent us for baby Morris a month or two ago!

Our first present after we announced the news on Friday of us expecting a baby princess! Julie's Mom & Dad brought over this sweet baby doll and super soft blanky!

Jen & Ben brought our princess these ADORABLE mary jane socks, complete with bling and crowns! She's going to love them!!

Julie gave Carter a book of 60,000 baby names!! For those of you wondering...we actually do have several girl names we love...just trying to narrow it down now. We are calling our baby girl both of our favorite names to see which one she likes best!! ha ha

Carter modeling a few of his gifts...a very cool Fossil watch from Chris and an electric bug zapper from Julie. Yes, an electric bug zapper...basically an electric fly swatter. It's hilarious and the guys had a blast zapping bugs in the back yard after dinner. We highly recommend this gadget for a guaranteed good time out by the BBQ grill! You can pick one of these up for $13 at Sur La Table!

Fun in the Sun! (for most)

This weekend we hung out at the pool and had a blast...for the most part!
Julie's nieces Keely & Laney had the most fun I think. Julie got burnt to a crisp in a few spots and her Dad had a nasty fall into the pool. Julie's Mom was taking care of Rex and they were both pretty hot. Gotta love these hot summer days!!

Keely floating on Julie's raft, or as Keely called it "she was sailing out in the ocean!" Ha!

Psalm 23

At church yesterday we started studying Psalm 23. Pastor Graham did a great job teaching the importance of truly knowing The Lord, Our Shepherd...not just knowing about Him. If you don't know this Psalm...I encourage you to open your Bible or find a Bible and read it. It's packed full of promises that will bless you and I pray that if you don't KNOW Him personally...that after reading this you will want to and you can confidentally proclaim that "The Lord Is MY Shepherd!"
Check out this adorable VIDEO of a little girl that has memorized Psalm 23!

19 weeks...

Our baby's sensory development is exploding!
His/her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch.
Some research suggests that she may be able to hear our voice now!
Our little one weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a LARGE HEIRLOOM TOMATO! Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

18 weeks...

Head to rump, our baby is about 5 1/2 inches long, about the length of a BELL PEPPER and weighs almost 7 ounces! He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that we'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position.

Our 20wk appointment is scheduled for Friday, June 19th -Carter's Birthday!
We can't wait to share with you if we're having a charming prince or a precious princess!

17 weeks...

Our little one is the size of a turnip this week! A turnip!? That's what we said!! ha ha Is that smaller than an orange? Who knows! All we know is that baby and momma are growing!! Here's an update on what our baby is up to this week!

Our baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord is growing stronger and thicker. Our baby weighs 5 ounces now, and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop. So cool!
