October?

Is anyone else surprised that it is already October!? Time is flying by at the Morris household...so we got a little behind on the blog! Here's a quick update...

We are painting the house in our free time...ha, ha...
If you know us at all...we have little free time, so when we actually had a free Saturday...Julie had the bright idea that we needed to paint the whole house!

Carter showing off his painting skills!

Julie & Steph hosted a "Pink Flamingo" party for the 7th grade girls & their Moms.
Steph shared with the girls what it means to find their identity in Christ.

Things to Squeal about!

Yes...there are many things in life that make me squeal with excitement! Like the day Market Street opened in Frisco or when I found out there was going to be a Chick-Fil-A close to us!

But this week...there have been many things that God has given us that have created an overwhelming joy inside...I HAD to share! Have you stopped to see God's goodness all around you? Don't miss it!

Reasons to squeal this week...
Metro is back! Yes, Metro is back at Prestonwood...the first night was this past Sunday. Hundreds of young adults, singles, and college students came to get a fresh word from God and several raised their hands to say they need Jesus! What a blessing! Carter and I are huge Metro supporters...I gave my life to Christ 6 years ago at Metro. God is good!

The beautiful weather! How can you not get excited about that!

The Tollway access road has opened all the way to Prosper Trail and it's now legal to drive down it (for those of you driving down it when the sign said "road closed"! It's A-mazing!

And what you will see as you drive up the Tollway access road will make you squeal uncontrolably...the new church building! Have you seen it lately? It's beautiful...I hope you see it and instantly thank God for all the people's lives that have been changed through His church and the lives He's going to change. Ooh...I get chill bumps!

Hope you are inspired to find something to squeal about today! It's the little things!

Update on Michelle!

Julie's sister, Michelle was released from the hospital on Thursday to go home! They successfully took her off the IV anitbiotics and switched to pills so she can recover at home with her family!
Go God!

I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.
Psalm 138:1,2

Update on Julie's Sister & Baby Rex

Our nephew Rex was born on Thursday, August 14th!
He is home now and doing well!
Julie's sister, Michelle is still in the hospital, there were complications with the epidural, which led to many problems. We are hopeful that she will be going home this week so she can be back with her family and enjoy her precious little boy.
Thank you so much to all of our friends that have been praying for her and our family!

8/16 -Vacation in AZ...Day 4

We did some more sight seeing on our last day here in Sedona!
Such a beautiful place...

We found a yummy place for breakfast...Wildflower Bread Company!
And the view was not to shabby either!

We found the most adorable little store tucked away in Sedona.
The Hummingbird House

8/15 -Vacation in AZ...Day 3

Day 3 was full of shopping, eating & sight seeing!

Shopping in Uptown Sedona

Our friends told us to eat at The Enchantment in Sedona. Wow, the food really is as incredible as the views!

The Enchantment

We enjoyed chasing the storms through the mountains!

8/14 -Vacation in AZ...Day 2

We got a wake up call from Julie's Mom this morning at 7am...she forgot about the 2hr time difference...but it was worth it! Julie's sister, Michelle, had gone into the hospital the night before and would soon give birth to our adorable nephew Rex just after lunch! Can't wait to get back and meet him!

It's hard to describe what we saw at the Grand Canyon...still in awe! Hopefully the pictures will tell the story...

In His hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are His also.
Psalm 95:4

Yikes! Ok...we really didn't realize how close we were to the edge until we looked back at our pictures. Now it makes sense why people were looking at us like we were crazy!

Come and see what God has done: He is awesome in His deeds toward the children of man. Psalm 66:5

8/13 -Vacation in AZ...Day 1

The surprise was a success!
For Carter's 30th Birthday in June, Julie surprised him with a vacation to the Grand Canyon! He tried to go in college 4 times and was never successful, so Julie wanted to make it happen for him! She planned the trip back in February...saved her money...and surprised him on June 19th, the night of his Birthday party at Willie's! He had no idea! So fun!!
Enjoy the pics!

We flew from Dallas Love to Phoenix early Wednesday morning. Our first stop was to see some good friends of ours, the Borinstein's! They just recently moved to Arizona...we had the joy of serving at Prestonwood with them for many years. We had a great time catching up and enjoyed our breakfast at Paradise Bakery!

What a beautiful drive through Arizona!

How Great is our God!

Arriving in Sedona, AZ where we will be staying. Before checking into our room...we walked around a really neat little village in Sedona, Tlaquepaque, where there is shopping, art galleries, and dining.

Los Abrigados Resort & Spa...where we're staying!

Our first stop after taking an amazing nap was the spa at the resort where we stayed.
What a great way to start our vacation!

After our massage for two, we ate at Joey's Bistro for some delicious pasta!
We're super excited about tomorrow...we're driving to the Grand Canyon!

Laney turns 4!
