D-NOW in AR & Vacation!

Carter spoke at Drew's D-NOW weekend at FBC Cabot, AR Feb.25-28!
The theme for the weekend was MOVE. We watched God as He moved through Drew's student ministry and changed many lives!

Jared Wood and his band led worship!

Lily learned a new trick when we got to AR!
She is grabbing her feet now!

So proud of herself!

J-Wood and Drew lovin' on Carter!
We had such a great time staying with Drew & Carolyn for the weekend!
Carter got to also preach Sunday morning for the worship service! God spoke so clearly through him, I could not take my eyes off of him! (sorry, no pics!)

Carolyn & Julie

We left AR Sunday afternoon and drove to TN to spend a week with Carter's family!
Lily did great with all the traveling, what a blessing.

We spent some time with Big Russ & Susan, who are expecting their 1st this fall!!

Carter and his Dad, Lonnie, before the traditional fish fry!

Lots of friends and family came for the fish fry and to meet Lily for the first time!
The Forsythe's had Lakyn just a few weeks after Lily!

Carter and Lily posing with Carter's parents, Lonnie (aka O'Daddy) and Kathy (aka Big Mama) before getting back on the road. We decided to stay with Drew & Carolyn again so we could have more time catching up and also to break up the long drive home!

We stopped in Memphis to eat at the Neely's original BBQ restaurant! YUM!!
Pat & Gina Neely are some of our favorites on the Food Network!

All the food was yummy...especially this dessert! It's called "sock-it-to-me cake!" It's Gina's Mom's recipe, so you know it was delicious! Gonna have to go back there just for that!

They have 5 restaurants now, but this is the original. So cool!

We had a blast on our little getaway, but definitely excited to be home! Lily especially!

Baby Dedication

Our sweet Lily was dedicated to the Lord in front of our family and friends at church this Sunday! The Bible teaches that we are to train up our children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), so we commit to raising her according to God's Word, and loving her unconditionally as Christ loves us. We pray that Lily will see Christ in us and that she too someday will make a decision to follow Him!
What a glorious day that will be!

Here we are with our North Campus Pastor, Marc Rylander

Papa & Grandma

Some of our dear friends and family joined us on this special day!
Some of them that came that do not attend our church in Prosper were...Papa & Grandma, Julie's sisters family, Kyley, Chrissie & Charlie, and our neighbors Kyle & Laura!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year, for Valentine's Day...we did not do our normal tradition of going to Lucy's
with our friends for dinner. Instead after a much needed nap following Freedom weekend,
we headed over to Julie's parents house for dinner. Not just any dinner...but a dinner that Julie's Mom & Dad slaved over and prepared for several days! Valentine's Day is also Julie's parents wedding anniversary and this year they celebrated 36 years! They prepared a delicious meal for our whole family to enjoy and celebrate with them...including garlic bread, bruschetta, olive garden inspired salad, homemade lasagna, and petit fours...all made from scratch!
It was delicious and so fun for us all to celebrate together!

Julie's parents...celebrating 36 years of marriage!!

RUSH- Freedom 2010

We just had Freedom weekend (Disciple Now) at church for our youth!
The theme this year was RUSH...with life coming at us in a rush...
we talked about being still and setting our minds on Christ,
the students studied the book of Jonah.

We had over 470 students and adults participate in Freedom this year!
God moved through our students in an incredible way, we witnessed over 60 decisions made...34 of those being students accepting Christ for the first time! Praise God! Talk about a RUSH!

We made Lily her very own RUSH t-shirt!
Are you wondering what happened to Carter's hair!!??
Well, he told the students that if we had more than 300 register for Freedom that he would shave his head...and here you have it! Ha, ha, ha

Record breaking snowfall!

Last week we had record breaking snowfall in TX!
We had about 12" at our home!
Julie and Lily bundled up and took a few pics for proof!!

All about Lily...

Our sweet baby girl is a few days away from turning 3 months old!
She has been an absolute blast and blessing and learns new things every day it seems!
We wanted to share with you just a few of the things she has started doing!

Today (Feb.3) we heard her laugh out loud for the 1st time! Too cute!

She has the most contagious smile!

She has started using her hands and puts things in her mouth!

So proud of herself!

She loves using her tongue and occasionally will stick it out at us!

Daddy is teaching baby girl new tricks!
Turn up the volume!!!

She started sleeping through the night in her crib...Praise the Lord!
We are loving sleeping again!
She is sleeping about 10hrs each night and taking naps during the day.

She recently started holding her hands together and is getting a strong grip on things.

Her favorite thing to do is play on her playmat...she loves the flower that plays music!
Julie found her rolling over on her side one day while she was playing on her mat!
We can't believe she'll be on the move before we know it!!

Lily admiring her precious daddy!

We had our first play date at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco!
She loved watching all the kids play! She's a people watcher like her momma!

Sunday, January 31st...Lily's first day in the nursery at church!
Yes, we finally gave in and let the sweet ladies in the nursery take care of our baby girl!
We had been taking her to service with us, but knew it was time to share the love!
She did so good!

Here's a video of Lily fighting taking a nap!
She is so tired and doesn't want to give in...it's the funniest thing!
This video is about 2min long...turn the volume up...it's precious!
Carter thinks she just doesn't want to miss anything so she tries so hard to stay awake!

Can you believe how much she's changed just over the past month! Crazy!!

Cutest B&B in town!

In the previous post Julie shared pictures from her friend's baby shower.
Now that you have seen those pics...we have to tell you all about the adorable place where the shower was! It is now Julie's favorite place and she will not stop talking about it!
The shower was at Roseville Bed & Breakfast in Marshall, TX off of Hwy 80 just outside of Hallsville, where Julie grew up. Julie, her Mom and Lily decided to make a weekend out of it and spend the night at the B&B so they could just wake up Saturday morning and already be there for the shower. And they are SO glad they did!
They met the sweetest couple, Melvin & Virginia who own the B&B. Absolutely precious!
This post could be forever long if Julie described the entire experience...
so here are a few pics and please visit their website and take a little trip to Marshall to check it out for yourself! You will experience hospitality at its finest, no doubt!

The bedrooms and bathrooms have so much character!
Virginia did an amazing job decorating the house!

Not only was the house adorable, and the owners super friendly, but the food was out of this world! And the best part is that Melvin & Virginia are happy to share their recipes and Julie and her Mom even bought their cookbook! Can you tell they had a blast here!?

You can order a cookbook from their website and it also includes the history of the B&B!
Anyone that has had Stein's petit fours, knows they are the best...well...Julie would argue that Virginia's petit fours are even better! No kidding! The recipe is in the cookbook!

Lily had a great time too! She can't wait to go back!

Yikes...we got a little behind with posting!
Here's a few things we've been up to!

Julie and Lily celebrated Jen Hangartner's b-day at Beth's house with a bunch of friends and their kiddos!
Here is Lily posing with Mrs. Katie...or as she calls herself "Lily's future Mother-in-Law!!" ha

We like stopping by to see daddy at work.
She lights up when she sees her daddy! So sweet!

We also celebrated Sara Shiver's b-day at Cheesecake Factory this month, but I don't have pictures of that. Lily hung out with Grandma and Papa for that party!
