Prosper Homecoming 2009!

Prosper's homecoming was this past Friday night against Decatur!
The weather was perfect for football, it was a blast! Prosper reminds us so much of our home towns...the parade through town, the pep rally, the activities after the game, the dance on Saturday...so fun! The entire town participates in homecoming!

Julie loves this part right before the players bust through the sign! She was a cheerleader in HS and was the girl standing on the shoulders holding the sign...she remembers the excitement waiting for them to run out on the field!

Score at halftime...35-0, Prosper
The cheerleaders did an awesome job at halftime!

Final score...45-0, Prosper
Way to go Eagles!

34 weeks...

Lily now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds, like an average cantaloupe, and is almost 18 inches long! Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.

The doctor visit on Friday went great! We go back in 2 weeks to learn about preparing for labor and see how Miss Lily is growing! Then our appointments are EVERY week! Woo Hoo!
Thank you Lord, for our precious, adorable, sweet cantaloupe! :)

32 weeks...

Lily weighs 3.75 pounds, pick up a large jicama (a mexican potato), and is about 16.7 inches long this week! Julie is gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to our baby. In fact, Lily will gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth!

31 weeks...

This week, our sweet Lily measures over 16 inches long! She weighs about 3.3 pounds, similar to carrying four navel oranges, and is heading into a growth spurt! She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's moving a lot these days, we can see her kicking and doing somersaults in there! This is a sign that she is growing and healthy...which we are very grateful for!

30 weeks...

Baby Lily is about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds, like a head of cabbage. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face.

Beth Moore -2009 Living Proof Live Simulcast

This past weekend our church, Prestonwood North,
hosted a live simulcast with Beth Moore!
It was amazing...so challenging, felt like an entire Bible Study thrown into 2 days!

L to R: Julie, Susan, Lindsay, Katie, Jen & Julie

We studied Psalm 37:1-9, with the focus being on verse 4...Our Heart's Deepest Desires.

We looked at 7 facts about this verse. 1)Nothing dictates our lives like our desires. 2) Beneath the desires of our hearts is the heart of our desires. (chew on that for a bit!) 3) Delighting in God adapts our desires into inevitabilities. 4) Nothing external can steal our right to delight. 5) To make room for delight, we've got to commit. 6) Nothing is passive about patiently waiting for desire to turn into delight. 7) Till faith becomes sight, trust God and do good.

Whew...so much to learn and take in! If you are interested in any of these facts and you didn't get to see the live simulcast, please leave a comment on this post and Julie will send you her notes! (*please leave your email address in your comment!)

Dear Baby Fairy...

Dear sweet sweet Baby Fairy...whoever you are...wherever you are...Thank you!
Thank you for blessing our family and our sweet baby girl with the thoughtful gifts, and the sweet cards, we wish there were some way to thank you, but we have no idea who you are! We have never heard of someone doing this, but think it is the sweetest thing in the world. We are always so blessed to see what the Baby Fairy has mailed us! The dress with bloomers are absolutely precious, the tiny slipper shoes are to cute for words, and now this unbelievably soft blanket...we are so grateful! We can't wait to share with our precious Lily that she had a Baby Fairy! She will think that is the coolest thing!
We thought maybe somehow through blog land...our thank you might reach you? We send hugs and many many thanks to you! May the Lord bless you!

Shower for Amy...

Our sweet friends Jeff & Amy Jackson are having their first baby 2 weeks before us!
His name will be Hunter Luke Jackson!
Here are a few pics from her shower last weekend...
Jeff is a football coach, so Hunter's room is sports themed. The hostesses made this adorable sign with Hunter's name and decorated with a sports theme!
This was a sweet blanket Amy's sister gave her with scripture on it.
Amy could not stop crying when she opened it!

29 weeks...

Our baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds, like a butternut squash, and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for her developing brain. This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited into Lily's hardening skeleton each day.

Weekend Getaway!

We took a mini vacation this past weekend before our sweet Lily arrives and before all the fall events kick off at church. We left for Southlake Town Square Thursday afternoon and returned to real life late Saturday night. Southlake Town Square is near Grapevine, so it's not a far drive but once you're there, you feel like you're far away from everything! We came to this place for our 1yr Anniversary which was almost two years ago and fell in love with the place so we went back for our mini vacation and had an amazing time!

Here is the Hilton Southlake where we stayed. Our room was one of the balcony rooms under the Hilton sign, so we had a beautiful view of the Town Square! Yes, the picture is crooked on purpose! Julie got to play with her new camera while we were on our trip...so hope you enjoy the pics!

Thursday night dinner was at Taco Diner...Yummo!

Yes, we are "those" people that take pictures of our food if it's picture worthy! If you know us well, this doesn't surprise you! Carter had some amazing pork tacos.

Harkins Theatre is the movie theatre in the Town Square, this picture was taken from our balcony. Thursday night we saw G.I. Joe and Friday night we saw Julie & Julia...both awesome movies!!

Friday we had breakfast and then headed to the Terrace Retreat Spa in our hotel. After several hours of pampering there we headed to lunch and then back to the room for a nap! What a day!

We also did some shopping on our little stay...of course mostly for Lily!! We visited the cutest baby stores...Baby Bliss and Janie & Jack and we had to go through the huge Anthropology...love it! We laughed when we saw this store...Lilly...because when we were here two years ago, we were eating lunch at Brio and looked across the street and saw this store and Julie said "Lilly...I like that name a lot!" Well...here we are two years later having our very own Lily...we just took out one of the l's!

Friday night we ate at Brio...an Italian restaurant that we really like! We have only eaten there one other time, and it was on our last visit to Southlake, so this is our little place to go when we visit! No food pictures...we were too hungry, the food didn't last long enough for a picture!

Saturday was spent at the pool and then we headed home! We are so thankful we were able to get away for a few days!

28 weeks...

By this week, Lily is weighing two and a quarter pounds, like a Chinese cabbage, and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world!

Laney turns 5!

Julie's niece, Laney, turned 5yrs old on Tuesday! Her Ariel party moved from the swimming pool outside to Chick-fil-A inside because of the possible storms rolling in. She had a blast with all her friends!

One of Laney's gifts was a princess picnic basket and she asked Carter to join her for a picnic! Rex invited himself to the party too! So cute!

27 weeks...

This week, Lily is weighing over 2 lbs and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers! With more brain tissue developing, Lily's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now.

Oh sweet Lily...we pray that you continue to grow and stay healthy for the next 12 weeks or so inside mommy's belly. We love you so much!
