NICU - Day 6

Monday, May 9th
Kyndall is getting stronger and stronger each day! She had her IV removed today, so you may notice she doesn't have all the stuff hooked up to her foot anymore! She is not needing any oxygen which is great, she has been needing an average of about 30% help since she was born, but they will be able to remove the cpap tomorrow. (the large tubes coming from her nose) Her bilirubin level went up a tiny bit, so they put her back under the lamp today, but will remove it probably tomorrow. She is getting .22 cc's of momma's milk 8x a day and that is staying down well, so she should start gaining her weight back soon. We are expecting to see some big improvements this week! (if I say something that is not "medically correct", please forgive me! We have so much to learn! =)

Here she is after Kangaroo Care...she is so relaxed! "Kangaroo Care" is the same as "skin-to-skin"

She is down a little more on her weight today, but we're hoping to see that number increase soon.

After visiting Kyndall, we needed to stop by Babies R Us...yes, we really did go through the store like this! We got some looks...but hey, what can you do when Babies R Us has NO wheelchairs!? Seriously!!! We couldn't believe it either! They found this in a closet, it was awful, no foot rests or anything. They said none of their stores have them. A baby store does not have wheelchairs so mommies-to-be and new mommies are able to get around in their store?? So this was Carter's brilliant idea, we laughed the entire time...we needed that! Don't think for one minute that the Morris train won't be out again!
