NICU - Day 8

Wednesday, May 11th

Amazing improvements today!

Breathing: She is still off the cpap and not requiring any oxygen, hooray!

Feeding: The feeding tube has been moved to her nose so that she can start practicing feeding/nursing this week. Her feedings will increase to .30 cc's today, which is 1 oz!

Weight: She gained some weight...praise God!! She weighs 3 lbs, 5.3oz!

They turned off the bili lights today, so now we can really see that precious little face now that the purple sunglasses are gone! 

She is also able to be dressed and swaddled now! HOW FUN!!

Sweet love is resting

I met the sweetest young couple yesterday at the hospital, their baby boy was in the same NICU pod as Kyndall. They were coming to take their sweet miracle home with them! Whew...I didn't realize how hard it would be to share their story until I just started writing it. She also delivered when she was about 32wks, he was now weighing 5lbs! Praise God! I forgot to ask how long he had been in NICU, maybe that was God protecting me so that I wouldn't compare our situation with theirs...but that's not what matters. They were so excited to be taking him home...all I could think was "oh...I long for that day!" I asked them if this was their first baby...she told me one year ago they delivered at 23wks and their baby survived 12 days in the NICU. How precious life is...God gives and takes away...and we are to praise His precious name, for He is the author and creator of life! I hope you will hold your loved ones a little closer and love them a little sweeter, while praising our glorious God for each breath they breathe. xoxo
